Why Underground?
Why would a ministry use the word "Underground" as part of their name?
Firstly, we serve among the Subcultures, sometimes also called the underground, among other terms.
Secondly, it calls to our minds the early church and the modern underground churches in countries of persecution.
To those of us in Nightwatch Underground Ministry, the use of Underground is a link to our rich early Christian heritage, as we move into a time in "the West" that is becoming very similar to how things were in those early Christian days. Those of us in the Subculture community feel this very keenly, as we have never been totally insiders, always standing in the gap for our fellow subculture people, trying to bring the Gospel into the Subculture's underground.
